Over 2,000 recruits have joined the Nightforce this year, fuelling a rapid expansion of the Midnight community, which has doubled in size on Discord since the beginning of this year to about 50,000 members.

While this massive influx of recruits and community members supercharges daily interactions and foundational activity, the most active and engaged champions of the Midnight network are the Nightforce leaders. The leaders step up to organize local events, guide new members, and establish strategic connections that accelerate network adoption.

What it takes to be a Nightforce leader

The Midnight Foundation looks for purpose-driven advocates who prioritize long-term ecosystem growth. True leaders in the Midnight ecosystem show an authentic commitment to the vision of rational privacy, which is the application of reasonable human judgment, using programmable privacy tools, to determine how privacy is secured.

Because rational privacy relies on human decision-making, a diverse global network of individuals drives ecosystem growth. These contributors apply their distinct areas of expertise to translate the foundation’s vision into practical applications and local events, directly connecting community and purpose with technology.

To succeed as a leader, individuals must demonstrate clear alignment with community values and demonstrate;

  • Values-driven commitment: Leaders advocate for the technology because they believe in secure, compliant, and private decentralized applications.
  • A collaborative mindset: Success depends on supporting others, sharing insights, and welcoming newcomers to strengthen the network.
  • Proactive execution: The community values self-starters who initiate conversations, build local networks, and create original resources.

Nightforce recruits can focus their activity on one or more of the specialized leadership pathways, proving their capabilities to take on a leadership role in the program.

The three types of Nightforce leader roles

The leadership structure includes three distinct tracks, each tailored to different strengths and community needs. Across all tracks, quality and accuracy stands out over volume of contributions. The ecosystem benefits most from leaders who apply their specialized knowledge to demonstrate originality, creativity, and trustworthiness.

  • Regional leaders accelerate growth in specific geographic areas. They represent the Midnight ecosystem in their regions. They run local communities, participate in 1-on-1 feedback sessions, and can apply for grants to host impactful local meetups.
  • Creators: This specialized team focuses on media, culture and education. They design engaging memes and edit high-energy videos to maintain a fun, positive spirit across social channels.
  • Discord leaders: These volunteer leaders manage onboarding and maintain healthy discussions across Discord and Telegram. They ensure channels remain helpful, respectful, and supportive for everyone.

The pathway to leadership

True leadership within the Nightforce is defined by active contribution and individual initiative. The journey to becoming a Nightforce leader starts at the recruit stage. Recruits are encouraged to act like leaders from day one, by staying highly active in community channels, contributing original ideas, and consistently taking the initiative to support others.

Recruit (Level 0)

The entry point where participants begin their Nightforce journey by completing Zealy quests, engaging with the community, and supporting ecosystem campaigns. Recruits earn points through their contributions, and to progress to Nightforce Alpha, they must complete at least 80% of the required Zealy tasks.

Alpha (Level 1)

Committed, active members who champion the network voice and help accelerate initial community growth. To earn progression to this first leadership tier, recruits must maintain consistent engagement in Nightforce channels, complete at least 80% of assigned Zealy tasks, and fully represent the program code of conduct. Once achieved, the Midnight Foundation provides upskilling support, strategy sessions, and expert access through a community accelerator framework.

Bravo (Level 2)

Trusted leaders deeply integrated into the community ecosystem who maintain close communication with Midnight Foundation staff. To become a Nightforce Bravo, recruits must be a Nightforce Alpha who completed at least 80% of the required Zealy tasks.

Bravo leaders have access to private workshops and discussions with key figures across the Midnight Foundation and the broader ecosystem, along with early previews and education about the network features and functionality.

Proactivity stands out as an essential leadership quality at this level. Maintaining high-profile activity and driving daily interactions in community channels significantly raises a candidate's profile and boosts their chances of selection.

Charlie (Level 3)

The current highest tier, carefully selected by a team from the Midnight Foundation. These public speakers host major community events, drive key discussions on Discord, and introduce creative initiatives that enrich the ecosystem.
