The Midnight network launch in March introduced state continuity and permanence in the network, opening up the future of programmable privacy. As the world's first fourth generation of blockchain, Midnight addresses fundamental barriers that have prevented blockchain from supporting the real world applications at scale.
Activity across the Midnight ecosystem continues to expand through initiatives designed to support builders and founders. Initial developer programs, including the Midnight Build Club, demonstrate that teams can successfully transition from technical proof-of-concept to functional pre-seed startups. The growing network activity creates a distinct opportunity for structured pathways that help founders convert these privacy-first applications into viable businesses.
Dedicated acceleration and education programs provide resources to help teams build, test, and deploy commercial products on the network. These structured tracks provide builders with frameworks for market entry, regulatory alignment, and technical deployment. The Night Sky Accelerator represents the latest initiative within this framework, focusing specifically on early-stage commercial development.
Introducing the Night Sky accelerator program
The Night Sky accelerator is designed for founders building scalable business with privacy features embedded at the infrastructure level. Founders will be supported by the Midnight Foundation, with contributions and mentorship with a range of subject matter expertise from across the Midnight ecosystem. Partner organizations and external domain experts will provide additional guidance across and specialized advice.
Night Sky supports early-stage teams as they transform a technical vision into a commercially viable, growth-ready company. Founders receive structured guidance across product architecture, growth strategy, partnerships, and fundraising. The cohort accepts builders from Web2 and Web3 backgrounds who view data privacy as a strategic commercial advantage.
The first cohort is open to projects from across use cases and sectors, wherever privacy-enhancing technology can be embedded at the infrastructure level. Some areas that may be of interest include:
- DeFi: Tokenization and payment networks.
- Digital identity: Decentralized identification systems.
- Digital product passports (DPP): Asset tracking and verification systems.
- Governance and compliance: Regulatory framework alignment and auditing tools.
- Healthcare: Secure medical data management platforms.
- GameFi: Privacy-preserving decentralized gaming and entertainment applications.
The accelerator remains open to novel applications and ideas outside of these verticals, where privacy is a core component.
Cohort 1 launches in July
The pathway for the inaugural cohort follows a structured timeline from initial application to post-program capital deployment.
Applications open on June 4th, and four to six teams will be selected to join the Night Sky program. Selection will focus on identifying teams with clear market insights and strong execution capabilities.
The first cohort will begin in July 2026 and will run for 10 weeks, though to September. Teams will meet weekly technical checkpoints and refine their commercial go-to-market strategies. Throughout the program, founders will connect directly with engineering mentors to embed zero-knowledge privacy features into their software architecture.
The program culminates in an in-person pitch event at Token2049 in Singapore on October 7 and 8. Founders will present their products to demonstrate both functionality and commercial viability to a curated audience of venture capitalists and ecosystem partners.
The program prepares teams to successfully raise a round within a 6-month window after the program, and teams will be supported after the accelerator program is complete with introductions to investors, starting with pitch day in October.
Alongside intensive mentorship support, teams will receive capital allocation from the Midnight Foundation.
Ramping up to pitch day
Mentors and engineers will work directly with four to six selected teams to embed privacy architecture into real-world applications.
Successful teams will learn how privacy-first infrastructure solves compliance and data protection requirements during the engineering phase.
Midnight Foundation solution engineers will support with technical mentorship and guidance, providing hands-on guidance to resolve architectural bottlenecks, zero-knowledge integration challenges, and deployment requirements.
Partners and subject matter experts with domain expertise from external organizations will provide targeted guidance on a range of topics including sector-specific regulations, market nuances, user acquisition, and commercial distribution. This process will support founders to learn how to structure investment rounds, navigate compliance requirements, and connect with venture capital partners, gaining the technical and business resources required to scale successfully.
Join the first cohort
Applications for the first cohort remain open until July 15th for founders who want to establish digital trust as a fundamental component of their business model.
Eligible teams can submit details regarding their product vision and current operational stage through the official portal. Founders can review the full application requirements and access the submission form on the Midnight Foundation website.
